TEACHING SCHOLARSHIPS
Each year scholarships are granted to professional teachers in Western Australia who wish to learn and teach Esperanto. Scholarship winner must undertake an introductory short course in Esperanto, followed by participation in the annual Australian Esperanto Summerschool - which is held in various States.Details of the scholarship, as well as a downloadable application form, can be obtained directly from the "Scholarships" page of the Summerschool website. Q. How can teachers introduce Esperanto into their classroom, even when they are new to the language themselves?A. It's fun for teachers to learn Esperanto at the same time as their students.
Q. What about classroom resource materials?
A. There is a wide range of Esperanto resource material available and catalogues can be obtained from LOTE Teaching Aids and from online bookshop of the Australian Esperanto Association.
Q. Will an Esperanto teacher come to my classroom?
A. Esperanto teachers are available in the metropolitan areas of most States and special arrangements can be made in country areas.
Q. Can teachers get online support?
A. Yes, there is online teaching support for individual students.
Q. Can my students learn by correspondence?
A. There are various levels of correspondence courses available, with special arrangement for classroom groups. The Australian Esperanto Association runs its own (snail mail) Correspondence Courses. There are several online (email) correspondence courses available, as well as free courses on the web.
Q. How can I become a qualified Esperanto teacher?
A. There is a wealth of support to anyone learning Esperanto and you can sit examinations at various levels. The Australian Esperanto Association provides you with an opportunity to sit examinations at its annual summer school, or arrangements can be made in your own state.
